Joan, Wendy, Denise, Brian, Jen, Alex, Bex & Chas

All team members had arrived at the House by 8.45pm.

The weather outside was calm but with drizzly rain.

Temperature inside at the start of the investigation was 13.9 degrees.

Earlier in the day Joan had set up trigger objects of a coin and crucifix on a table in the centre ground floor room.

These had remained untouched throughout the day whilst the building was locked up.

Start - 9.05 pm

Temperature 13.9 degrees.

We began the evening with a circle of protection led by Denise and then made our way upstairs for our first vigil in the room furthest from the staircase. For some reason we were all feeling very jittery and nervous so we decided to stay together as one team for the duration of the investigation.

We all sat down around the table in the room and straight away the temperature began to fluctuate moving from 13.9, up to 14.4 at it's highest, then falling back down to 13.5 degrees where it remained static.

Both Denise and Alex agreed that the atmosphere had completely changed since our last visit. It had certainly become more oppresive and uncomfortable. Wendy stated that she would not have been happy to split into two teams.

Jen started to get the name of Robert.

Most of us agreed that there were spirits within the room that had not been there during our last visit. This may have been the result of spirits being invited into the property via the use of a ouija board at some time since our last investigation.

At this time we were all sensing a presense standing in the doorway and could hear a scratching sound. It was a very 'dark' form of which Brian believed it to be that of a cavalier or pirate wearing a tricorn hat. Wendy got the impression of a Bosun on a ship that had  a trauma to the head and Alex felt he had something wrong with his right eye .

As he said this both Denise and Jen could hear the sound of rushing water. We all believe he had nothing to do with the history of the building.  Joan was given the name of Duncan and began to describe his clothing. As she did so she felt as if she was actually wearing the cloak, she could feel the weight of it across her shoulders.

Brian stated that he was in fact a smuggler and as he did so Chas noticed the temperature fluctuate between 13.6 and 14.8 degrees. At the same time Wendy said the spirit was saying that it was 'devilishly hot' in a west country accent and got the impression of growing tobacco under the hot sun. Denise felt a sharp pain below her right shoulder blade and around her spine, feeling that he had been shot or knifed in the back.

Brian and Wendy then agreed that there was more than one spirit in the room, another male around 6ft 6in and bald. Brian believed him to be the 'Margate Giant' who was 18 stone, and again had no connection to the house.

This spirit moved to the room next door and as Brian followed him the spirit backed off.

Both Wendy had Denise heard footsteps behind Alex and Denise and Alex heard the sound of the front garden gate being opened. When Wendy looked out of the window it was closed.

10.05pm  - Break.

During this break it was noted that the trigger objects set up downstairs had both moved whilst we were all upstairs.

10.40pm - We returned upstairs to the middle room. Temperature 14.9 degrees.

Almost immediately Jen and Alex heard someone walk over by the doorway. Jen was given the name Robert again and Chas thought it was either Robert Johns or John Roberts and that the house belonged to him.

Jen and Brian had moved through to the room furthest away from the staircase and the rest of remained in the centre room. We could all hear footsteps from the room that Jen and Brian were in but they were sitting down.

Alex and bex moved into the Alcove between the two rooms and Alex felt a sensation that his head was being pulled upwards. At this stage we all advised Alex and Bex to move away from the alcove and return back to the centre room.

Chas saw a little girl called Alice standing beside the fireplace. She was wearing her frilly sunday best dress. (During our previous investigation Wendy had picked up on a little girl called Alicia). We then heard 2 small tapping sounds come from the fireplace. Everyone could smell what could only be described as veneer lacquer. Chas said that the little girl did not like the 'big shadowman'.

Brian, Alex and Denise moved back to the Alcove between the 2 rooms but now felt that the vortex like energy that Alex had felt earlier had now closed.

Shadow at end of corridor. No one here at this point in invest

11.30pm - Break.

During this break Wendy decided to leave investigation.

12.05am – Ground floor room  next to staircase.

Jen had the urge to giggle and was given the name Francis.

Brian could sense a woman with a small boy child and an older daughter about 14 standing by the fireplace.  We believe these to be the spirits we encountered on our first vist Mary and her son Jacob and daughter Hannah.

Chase could see someone standing next to Brian  of the name Vivien or Gillian and felt as if something like an elastic band was on his head and tightening.  Brian believed a female in her mid 20’s and a younger girl of about 9 were next to him. The older girl was sobbing and the younger one looked starved, like the girl on the poster for Les Miserables.

As we all heard a tap in the doorway nearest to the staircase,

Jenny could sense something in the next room, and at the same time she and Alex could see a light on the floor in the middle of the room  as a thump came from the room above us.

Bex began to feel sick as Brian felt that  a spirit was standing half way up the stairs.

Alex had the urge to return back  upstairs to the alcove but was answered with a resounding NO from the rest of us.

An overpowering  smell of decaying flesh could be smelt by all (again this  occurred during our previous visit), and the door to the staircase opened. Both Brian and Jen could see someone peeking around this door, holding their hand out.

Just as we were about to end for a break Brian and Chas could smell bacon and cabbage cooking.

1.05am – Break

1.20am  - Downstairs end room with cellar.

Temperature 13.5 degrees.

We could all see flashing lights over in the corner of the room by the door, but decided that these were probably being caused by light reflecting through the small squares of glass of the window  frame.

Brian, Alex and Denise went down into the cellar, leaving the others in the room above.  Brian tapped on the ceiling beams of the cellar to see if he could get a response from spirit.

A little later Jen was lying on the floor by the cellar hatch and all in the room with her could hear a knock on the door and footsteps outside in the hall.

It must be remembered that those of us in the cellar had been tapping on the ceiling earlier. It could be that the noises on the door and out in the hall were our taps travelling with sound, but these noises had continued after we had ceased tapping.

2am – Close Down Circle led by Denise.

Shadow in Doorway .No-one here either. All members accounted for

Overall, it was a very eventful evening with yet more photographs taken  showing shadowy figures and audible sounds. Of course, we must not forget the movement of the trigger objects too that occurred in a locked off room.

Most people also experienced their photographic and lighting equipment batteries losing power much earlier than they should have. I personally changed batteries in my torch twice, only to find when I got home and tested them with a  battery tester that they were fully charged.

The fact that during the evening Alex was constantly feeling the urge to go to the area of the alcove upstairs makes you have to consider what energy was in fact causing him to feel this.
