Mist on Wall

On entering the pub, before the investigation had begun, two members Michelle and Joan, were sensing the spirit of a 1960’s nurse. She was sensed quite clearly, showing herself in uniform. It may be pointed out that Joan had previously sensed this lady on an earlier visit, but had not shared this information with Michelle.
The group then did a protection and grounding before commencing the investigation.

Orb on Wall

At first, most of the group were sitting in the snug area. A lady was sensed here, the name “Millie Rogers” was picked by Michelle. Shadows were seen moving at floor level, and it was felt that these were cats, belonging to the spirit lady. Jenny sensed that one of the cats was named Pudding. One of the mediums, Brian felt that this lady had suffered great loss, and sensed that she had lost her children in a fire. He further felt that this was connected to the pub.

The group kept expecting the door to bang, but this didn’t happen.

The group then split into two, one choosing to remain in the ‘snug’ area, and the smaller group sitting nearer to the bar near the door to the car park. The group in the snug continued to have contact with Millie, and Brian got upset as Millie continued to share her sorrow with him. Jenny also picked up on a Henry or Henrietta at this point.

Orb above Wendys Head

The smaller group consisted initially of Michelle, Katy and Wendy.

Wendy was picking up on an American pilot from the 1950's named Dennis. She felt he was a very charming man, and enjoyed his pint and his pipe in the Jolly Farmer, as well as sea fishing off Ramsgate. Michelle gave a description of Dennis, suggesting he wore his hair slicked back. Michelle also felt that Dennis never made it back to America, dying in England. Katy sensed the name Wing Commander ‘Howard’ or ‘Higgins’.

The whole group visited the cellar, and Wendy felt that at some point it had been two buildings. She picked up on a man in what appeared to be a leather apron, and suggested that the barrels had been in another position in the past.

Back in the bar, Wendy felt that she was being given the message 'rising from the dead' in a religious form. She felt that this was a clue to a name somehow and the name Lazarus was suggested by Joan.

Orbs/Light Anomaly

The group then joined for a séance.

Joan saw a lady walk across the room and through a door that is not now evident.

A religious theme was dominant at one point, when the spirit of a man with long grey hair came through, and Wendy’s hair was seen to move as though in a breeze. Wendy did not feel this. Jenny took a photo, and a large orb is evident over Wendy's head. It was felt that a male presence was standing between Wendy and Katy. Michelle felt that this was a verger and he was 53 years old. Jenny got the name Father Terence.

During the séance, Wendy also got the name Mr Jeffries (or Jeffreys), who was very insistent on being called ‘Mister’, and never volunteered his Christian name.

Table tipping was tried with one of the bar stools but was unsuccessful. It appeared to be moving slightly, but this was probably wishful thinking.

Throughout the evening, Wendy kept getting the name Sam, and toward the end of the investigation suggested Sam Packer. She felt this was something to do with Lazarus, but no connection could be made. This name could not be confirmed by staff.

Other names picked up during the evening were Ian from the 1960's, Jack a 70's farmer, Mary, and Liz a barmaid from the mid 50's (sensed by Michelle).
